How the peacock got its feathers

Here is my myth and legend story.Me and my buddy Ana made this story up I hope you enjoy reading our story.
How the Peacock got its feathers.

Long ago  peacocks were very athletic birds who liked to show off. They were fast runners because they only had one feather on their tail. One day the peacock decided to challenge a whole lot of birds to a race.

Every Time every time he won a race he took a colourful feather from each of  the of the birds and added it to his tail. He showed off with the feathers to brag about how fast he was.

Finally he challenged an emu to a race. But because he had too many feathers in his tail, he was slower than before. The emu beat him easily.

The peacock was very angry and pulled up his tail to prove that he was still better looking than the other birds because his colorful feathers.

Now, because the peacock cant run that fast, it lifts its giant feathery tail to show off instead.
