Kaikoura earthquake

So today We watched a video describing earthquakes. After watching the video it made me think how often earthquakes can occur. I found that a year after the magnitude - 7.8 2016 Kaikoura earthquake, scientist think that It wouldn't be the last time a dangerous earthquake like that will happen.
The devastating magnitude that hit in 2016, ripped the seabed by 2km, wrecked houses, ruined farmland and damaged the state highway. scientist have gone away to study more about earthquakes to get ready and make sure there are no more harmful earthquakes. I also found out that a tsunami modelling shows that a magnitude-9 rupture on the hikurangi subduction zone means waves would hit parts of the south wairarapa coast in just seven minutes.
